Planting the Seeds of People Strategy - tips for growing a strong and healthy team.

People Seeds More Reliable Than Tomato Crops Say Experts

It’s been a long and dreary winter yet there is light at the end of the tunnel even as salad items are dropping off our shopping lists.

While we may not be able to rely on the humble tomato at the moment, this a great time of year to start building your people strategy into the foundations of your business.

Seeds for People Growth in 2023

Your people seeds need to stem from great communication. Our growing tips for great communication are:

  • Keep digging. All behaviour is communication. Regardless of what it is, whether it was “good” or “bad” be curious about it and find out more.

  • Prepare to put in the hard graft. Everyone. Communication isn’t a one way street and everyone needs to be encouraged to take part.

  • Water Frequently. Make sure you are consistent with your communication. It builds trust and develops culture.

  • Tend with care. Be compassionate in your communication and remove judgement from your language. Easier said than done, just don’t mistake opinions for facts and observe rather than evaluate.

As any gardener will tell you, nothing can grow overnight and your people strategy isn’t a quick fix either.

By planting your seeds now you can start this process and get some amazing results this year by working with your teams and creating the right environment for them to thrive.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.
