"Art is good for you, whoever you are".

So says Grayson Perry who is launching series 2 of Grayson’s Art Club. If you didn’t catch it first time around, Grayson’s art club was set up to encourage people to get creative. People submitted their work and lots were featured on his show while others were put on display in Manchester Art Gallery (check it out here: https://www.graysonsartclub.com/)

Now in 2021, they are running a second series – and we want to take part!

So here’s the deal.

We are inviting some of our good friends and fellow Small Business Owners who in turn we hope will invite their good friends and fellow Small Business Owners, who in turn will invite their good friends and Small Business Owners…. to draw a self-portrait. Not just any kind of portrait though. A self-portrait that shows you doing something that you would not be able to tell or know about you otherwise, during a regular, work related Zoom call.

That’s right – we are going to submit a piece of work to Grayson’s Art club in the  “Work” category.

Our plan is to host a lovely evening on Zoom at 6pm on Thursday 4th March. While we are all coming from the world of work, this is not your average work or networking call. It is a group of human beings, getting together, to show our art and share something about us – our life, our hobbies, our loves, through our self-portraits.

We will take a screen shot, firstly of us all on the call, and then a second one of us all holding up our self portraits instead. This will be what we send to Grayson.

Make sense?

Interested?

We don’t care how good, bad, terrible or indifferent you think you may be at art. The idea is to have a go at something different, meet some new people, and maybe make a lockdown Thursday evening just a little bit more interesting.

We think it will be a lovely thing to do.

Let us know if you would like to come and play with us by signing up on our Eventbrite link – and please share this with others in your network who you think will love it too, and ask them to do the same. We want to get lots of lovely people involved.

And because it is work, when you sign up we will ask you for details about you and your business that if you are happy for us to, will be shared with everyone who took part in the call – so you’ll get a networking opportunity thrown in as well, just for the heck of it!
